Final Culminating Animation
Step 1: Selection of Scene\Parts
- Select one 30 second segment to animate in your own style.
- The poem has been broken down into 14 (thirty second) parts found at the bottom of this page.
- Sign up with here for the part you would like to do. First come first serve.
Step 2: Review The Twelve Principles of Animation
- Review the video files on the twelve principles of Animation.
- Select 2 principles that you will clearly demonstrate in your 30 second segment of animation to attain a Level 3.
- Select a 3 principles to incorporate into animation to attain a level 4
- Select 4 or more principles to incorporate into your animation for a level +4

Step 3: Storyboarding
- Before you begin to produce your animation create a storyboard with a minimum of 27 panels.
- Below each thumbnail sketch write down the words from the poem that will accompany the visual panel(s) above.
- On the back of one storyboard panel develop character sketches for animation.
- Be prepared to present your storyboard to the class.

Step 4: Flash Document Settings (Very Important)
- IMPORTANT: Set your document properties to 640 X 480 at 24 fps (go to top menu bar in Flash and select "Modify\Documents). Review the image to right and set your properties to the same configuration.
- Warning: Do not include a movie clip in your production
- Be sure to use several scenes to manage your timeline or use folders to manage assets in Flash
Step 5: Download and Import Sound Files to Flash
- The sound files located below contain the entire sound track to the poem. Download the part that you are animating and import the sound into a Flash library.
